Alan Rickman & Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman joined forces in numerous occasions, and it all started with Sense and Sensibility back in 1995. In addition to playing one of the lead roles, Thompson was also in charge of writing the Oscar-winning script for this period drama.
She entrusted Rickman with the task of bringing her words to life and he did it with ease – just like every other time they collaborated in the future. The two were really a force to be reckoned with and brought the best out in each other – behind and in front of the camera.
Rickman, who sadly passed away in 2016, left an amazing legacy behind him.
Thompson was there to take part in many of his career milestones, including his directorial debut The Winter Guest.
“He was the finest of actors and directors. I couldn’t wait to see what he was going to do with his face next. I consider myself hugely privileged to have worked with him so many times and to have been directed by him. He was the ultimate ally,” said Thompson about her dear friend.
