Scarlett Johansson & Chris Evans
Yep, we know what you’re thinking – of course these two starred in a bunch of movies together. After all, they’re both a part of the Marvel universe.
What probably slipped your mind is the fact they knew each other long before stepping into their superhero costumes.
Johansson and Evans met on the set of the movie The Perfect Score all the way back in 2004. At the time, no one could’ve even predicted they’d one day play Black Widow and Captain America. Their first movie together followed a group high school seniors who came up with a pretty elaborate way to ace the SAT.
Five years before starring in The Avengers, Johansson and Evans played each other’s love interest in rom-com The Nanny Diaries. Everyone around them already started noticing they were an amazing team.
“Why I think their chemistry is so good together is they’re very close friends. They brought a lot of their own ideas to their scenes and a lot of personal energy to those scenes to create what we like to call a work wife/work husband relationship between those two characters,” explained director Joe Russo.
Ben Affleck & Matt Damon
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been sharing the spotlight for three decades, but they’ve known each other even longer. These two are childhood friends who always shared many common interests, which led them to their path to stardom.
Affleck and Damon both fantasized about a career in Hollywood during their teen years. The two saved their money to travel to auditions together.
They first appeared together in 1989’s classic Field of Dreams, but they were hardly ‘co-stars.’ In fact, you probably don’t remember seeing them since they were just extras.
Affleck and Damon kept on chasing their dream after this brief appearance and it came true in 1997. The two made a real name fore themselves with their Oscar-winning script for Good Will Hunting. They starred in many movies together before and after this, but this project opened many doors for the duo and completely redefined their careers.
Sadly, we no longer get to see them on the big screen together. However, these two are still working together through Project Greenlight and they’re always there to support each other’s work.
